Why Xhale?

The gateway to excellence

I believe that Train Xhale can help to transform your performance both in sport and in life. It is not only a training platform, it is a gateway to a community of likeminded people, and perhaps the key to a more disciplined and organized life. I want to share some of the main ways my coach and I use the platform, but also some of the more niche ways in which you can use Xhale to your advantage. The chances are there are things that you have not previously considered.

I am a 27-year-old athlete and coach, and have spent the last 8 years training for triathlon while serving a full-time career in the Royal Marines. In 2024 I gained my professional triathlon license and have just finished my first season racing at the highest level. I have been coached by Mark Livesey (co-founder of Xhale) using Xhale for the last 2 years both as an amateur with a demanding and volatile job, and more recently as a professional with a steadier, more predictable workload. Here are some of the things that I have recognized in my own journey in the sport with the help of Xhale.

Personal Development

Xhale boosts your personal development. The platform allows you and your coach to organise your training load around life commitments. Being prepared and organised regardless of the level you compete at is imperative. A highly functioning individual is a highly functioning athlete, but there is no use being highly functioning at sport and letting everything else in your life slide. There has to be balance, and your coach must understand your commitments outside of sport to be able to help you find that balance. Using Xhale to organise your life and construct a clear plan, on “paper”, leaves you to concentrate on the present rather than worrying about the future (or the past). More than any other platform I have worked with – Xhale keeps communication at the forefront of planning.

Highly Functional Software

Included in the package is everything you need as a coach and athlete to prepare to reach your potential in your chosen sport. It works, but it does not confuse you with pointless numbers based on unfounded algorithms. The Xhale website and You Tube channel have tutorials for the more advanced metrics, functions, and performance tracking. Xhale is proven through the world class athletes across a range of sports who choose to use it.

Good communication, clear metrics

I believe this is something which other platforms are lacking, despite their marketing rhetoric. The Xhale team always have communications at the fore of their minds when developing new functions, and they listen to what coaches want. Communication is the basis for all human interactions, and development relies entirely on it. Both coach-to-athlete, and vice versa. It is a two-way process and having this continual feedback loop with a coach means progress can be optimal.  This is something that cannot be mimicked through generic training plans, limited coaching contact times or AI.

Community and knowledge

Xhale brings together lifetimes of experiences and ability, countless hours of study, work, and mistakes. This experience means you can fast track your progress by cutting out mistakes seen repeatedly by your coach. Xhale is spearheaded by a huge spectrum of highly functioning coaches and athletes. They understand that wellbeing precedes performance. Not the other way round.

Find a coach

There is a wide spectrum of coaches using Xhale, and no doubt one to suit each individual. Details of coaches can be found in the easy-to-use Xhale Coach Directory, and their knowledge is shared on the Coaches’ Hub. This resource gives you access to the knowledge and ability passed on by these coaches, meaning you can work WITH your coach to deliver your most effective training output.

Finding a coach through Xhale could be the next big step in developing your personal and athletic performance. Being part of an innovative group of people with a common goal in mind is vital to make sure you enjoy what you do, and that your enjoyment leads to a balanced, healthy lifestyle, underlined by peak performance, which is here to stay.
